How does Copy Guard contracting work?

Copy Guard contractors look for copyright violations on the internet and in digital media. After finding a violation and submitting it to review through the “Submit a Violation” page, our team looks through the violation and contacts the company to either negotiate or extend a contract for claiming the copyright violation. If a copyright violation is verified, the user is extended a fee for finding the violation.

What fees are Copy Guard contractors paid?

Here are the most common metrics companies use to determine a payout:

• Monthly Unique Visitors (MUV)

  • This metric measures the monthly organic traffic to a site.

• Net Projected Ad Revenue (NPAR)

• Threat to Company

  • This metric depends on the complexity of a site and its growth.

That said, Copy Guard pays contractors up to 0.03$/MUV.

This means for a site with 3.6 million monthly visitors, the payout could be as high as 108,000$.

Where do I look for copyright violations?

There are two kinds of submissions to Copy Guard - chance occurrences where users stumble onto violations, and submissions from users that actively hunt them.

We recommend targeting a specific popular brand you know of - for example your favorite technology company, and trying to find clone websites that do a good - but not perfect - job of imitating the original company.
